There are also two categories available for those who prefer to walk. The adult walker is $45 and the youth walker is $35 and those prices do not go up.
$35 and those prices do not go up.
The Hot Chocolate 15/5k weekend starts out with the Expo at McCormick Place. Participants can pick up their race day packets and goodie bags. You can find out more information at http://www.mccormickplace.com/events.php .
As in years gone by, the numbers will be out in full force. This year 45,000 people are expected, bringing their spirit and charity to make this event another success. It has been said by many participants in years gone by that the Hot Chocolate 15/5k is the best marathon that they have ever participated in. Proceeds from the event will benefit the Ronald McDonald House Charities which assists multiple families throughout the year.
Runners will enjoy running a course that showcases the biggest attractions Chicago has to offer. Known for their attention to quality and safety, organizers have made sure that the course has been tested for accuracy and design and medical plans are in place if needed.
Who doesn’t love a goodie bag? The Hot Chocolate 15/5k knows how to take care of its participants and they prove it again this year. Recipients of this year’s award winning 2014-2015 goodie bag will find included a luxurious, fleece lined hoodie. Great to keep warm in on those chilly Chicago days when you are out and about.
New for 2014, all runners who finish the 15k run will be receiving a commemorative Hot Chocolate Chicago medal on a shimmering finisher ribbon. This is sure to be a keepsake and it comes in the form of a metal chocolate bar wrapped in gold (not for eating purposes!) with an engraving of the beautiful Chicago skyline.
Runners and walkers, please make a note that Wave 1 of the race starts at 7 AM and Wave 2 at 7:45 AM. We recommend using public transportation if possible due to the heavy volume of traffic. If you do choose to drive there are plenty of parking options at Millennium Garages and Soldier Field. Surface lots can also be found throughout the area. The fun does not stop once the race is over. Participants and guests will be treated to a fabulous after race party in Grant Park. Chocolate delights will be on hand for your enjoyment along with a live DJ, activities for the kids, picture taking opportunities with the Hot Chocolate inflatables and a great celebration
to be enjoyed by everyone.
