Chicago Artists Month October
Throughout the month of October, the city of Chicago celebrates artists and their work. Performances, exhibitions, open studio tours, and neighborhood art walks are planned throughout the city.
Ghost Tours October 2-30
You can now celebrate fall with a ghost tour starting at Lincoln Park Zoo. The tour takes you through various famous haunts, and shows you some of the eerie sights and sounds of the zoo in the dark.
Mac & Cheese Fest October 4
The Mac & Cheese fest celebrates one of the greatest foods for children. The tradition apparently goes back to the 14th century, and this year’s competition has over 60 Chicago chefs showing off their best to take home “The Golden Noodle.”
2014 Chicago Marathon October 10-11
The Chicago marathon is second perhaps only to the Boston marathon in size in the United States. It’s a huge event with over 135,000 participants from around the world. The city closes most of Lakeshore Drive for the majority of the day during the daylong race.
Chicago Fashion Week October 14-18
Strut your fashion out for the weekly homage to the Chicago fashion industry. This annual show features the latest and greatest fashion trends from designers around the city. Watch the models walk the runway, and see the newest fashions before they are out in stores.
American Academy of Ophthalmology October 18-21
The annual American Academy of Ophthalmology conference held downtown at the McCormick Center. 24,000 doctors across the country will be discussing the latest trends and procedures in eye care. If you want to stay at the closest Bed and Breakfast to the McCormick center, give us a call on 312-493-2953. We have free shuttle service in the morning to the McCormick center.
Boo! At The Zoo October 18-26
The Brookfield Zoo is holding their annual Halloween bash for kids throughout the entire week. From costume parades to pumpkin smashing and a 7,000 square foot Crazy Maize corn maze, this event has it all for kids.
American College of Emergency Physicians October 27-30
This event at the McCormick center will have 10,000 doctors, surgeons, and other medical professionals meeting to learn hands-on training for emergency physicians.
12th Annual Halloweve Bash October 31
John Barleycorns is having their annual bash. Buy the 3-hour party package for basic cocktails and drinks, along with an entry into the costume contest. The costume contest has cash prizes for the winners.
